The purpose of this charity is to raise awareness of the elephant in the room. There needs to be better treatment out there, especially in the rehab industry. Most rehabs are state-run terrible places for addicts, as well as programs for repeat drug offenders to lower the number amount of people getting incarcerated. This is from 2019 and we can only imagine the numbers now. Nationally, approximately 8% of people met the criteria for substance use disorders in 2019, but such disorders are far more common among people who are arrested (41%) and people incarcerated in federal (32%) or state prisons (49%). This needs to be stopped or at least lower the amount of family and friends lost due to the real epidemic. Moreover, I want to help all addicts stuck in the system due to their illness, so I finally decided to make the Charity and hope I can help.
